The Decalogue Society is a bar association of attorneys interested in maintaining ties with the Jewish people. Members are located primarily in Illinois, as well as other states and in Israel. The Society's members seek to combine aspects of their lives unique to being both attorneys and Jews. Decalogue serves as a crucial and unique forum to combine those attributes in the activities, goals, and strength of a bar association. The Society maintains a broad range of programs to benefit our members, the Jewish community, the legal community, and the general public. Decalogue is proud of its history of remarkable achievements since 1934 and promises a future of continuing devotion to its worthy goals and principles. |

| Volunteer to help our community: When we feel our community is more vulnerable than usual, it would be an excellent time to help those among us even more vulnerable than Decalogue members. Please consider volunteering time for legal assistance (especially bankruptcy and foreclosure) through The Ark, honored by Decalogue as the Jewish organization of the year. For more information, call 773-973-1000. |
| Decalogue President Andy Schleifer wants us to know that there are a number of very talented law students interested in summer positions. Anyone interested in hiring someone should contact the Decalogue office for more information. We'd like to have "family" helping "family." |
Write Two Tablets and Call Me in the Morning
The long-time phenomenal editor of the Decalogue Tablets, Jerry Schur, has retired, and his wonderful assistant Leisa Braband is also no longer able to help edit the Tablets. We need people to volunteer to write or get others to write articles, to solicit ads, and, with help, arrange for publication. People who are willing to "do the write thing" should call Decalogue's new Executive Director, Aviva Patt at 312-263-6493, or email decaloguesociety@gmail.com |
